5 Teacher Leadership Websites for Professional Development and Coaching

Technology can be a powerful tool for supporting teacher leadership in schools. Online platforms, social media, and other digital tools can help teacher leaders to connect with colleagues, share resources, and collaborate on projects. For example, the Teaching Channel website provides a platform for teachers to share videos of their classroom instruction and receive feedback from other educators (Teaching Channel, n.d.). Meanwhile, the ASCD website features an online community, where educators can share ideas, discuss best practices, and connect with colleagues from around the world (ASCD, n.d.). Social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook can also be used to connect with other teacher leaders, share resources, and engage in ongoing professional development (Holland, 2017). In this way, technology can help to promote a culture of teacher leadership in schools, and support collaboration among educators

Here are five top websites that I have found to be useful for teacher leadership in my school:

  1. Edutopia: This site is a treasure trove of resources for teacher leaders, including articles, videos, and podcasts on topics such as project-based learning, social-emotional learning, and teacher professional development. Edutopia also features an active community of educators who share ideas, insights, and best practices.

  2. ASCD: The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) is a global nonprofit organization that provides professional development, educational leadership, and advocacy services to educators around the world. Their website offers a wealth of resources for teacher leaders, including webinars, online courses, research reports, and more.

  3. TeachingChannel: This website features videos of real teachers in action, along with lesson plans, classroom management strategies, and other resources for teacher leaders. It's a great place to go for inspiration and practical guidance on everything from differentiation to assessment.

  4. Common Sense Education: This site provides resources and tools to help educators teach students how to think critically, behave safely, and participate responsibly in the digital world. Teacher leaders can find lesson plans, reviews of educational technology tools, and advice on how to integrate technology into teaching and learning.

  5. Share My Lesson: This website is a free platform for educators to share and download lesson plans, activities, and other teaching resources. It's a great resource for teacher leaders who want to expand their knowledge and skills in a particular subject area or grade level.

In conclusion, these five websites are just a few resources available to teacher leaders who want to enhance their professional development and coaching skills and improve student learning outcomes in schools. By staying informed and engaged with the latest research and best practices, teacher leaders can make a meaningful difference in the lives of their students and colleagues and promote a culture of continuous improvement in their schools.
